Resurrection Pass Professional Review and Guide
"Resurrection Pass is one of the most popular longer hikes on
the Kenai. The trail covers stunning scenery climbing from forest
floor into alpine tundra, with numerous alpine creeks, cabins, and
backcountry lakes along the route."
--Mollie Foster, Hiking Alaska: A Guide to Alaska's Greatest Hiking Adventures (Falcon Guides).
Real nice and easy trail with some amazing things along the way. The falls just a few miles from the south trailhead are awesome. great flora and fauna.
Resurrection Pass trail is well-defined and only moderately strenous. Good fishing in the lakes and the scenenery is awesome. July is a very good time to hike this trail; all the snow has melted, the trail has dried and the wildflowers are blooming. Parts of the trail pass through flower-filled mountain meadows; like walking through a spring bouquet. The beaver were fun to watch on the lake they created when they dammed a creek and marmot (like large prairie dogs) are numerous, as well as, moose. The bear are out there, also, but we did not encounter one on the three days we were on the trail. It's a great trail, enjoy if you get the chance.
Relatively easy trail. Never any serious climbing, but still some wonderful views. Trail is easy to follow. A laid back kinda hike, but still nontheless fantastic.
