In the Chilkat Inlet area there are a variety of paddling destinations in a very scenic setting of forests and glaciers and snowy peaks in the background. Along shore there is the possibility of seeing bears. Eagles and waterfowl are always present. Whales, seals, and porpoises are often present in the inlet. Paddling along the east side of the inlet is OK for those with limited skill and experience. Those crossing the inlet to Davidson Glacier should be more experienced or accompanied by experienced kayakers.
