In terms of touring, the West Arm is the most famous area of Glacier Bay. Especially popular destinations are Grand Pacific Glacier in Tarr Inlet, Johns Hopkins Glacier in the inlet of the same name, Lamplugh Glacier, and Reid Glacier in Reid Inlet. Trip Highlights: Impressive, scenic glaciers; vast glacial outwash fans; and steep fjord walls dominate the scene. Wildlife viewing—brown bears, mountain goats, sea lions, and lots of seals and seabirds—is often excellent.
