Table Top Mountain Professional Review and Guide
"Located in the heart of the White Mountains National Recreation Area, this 3-mile loop traverses through a regenerating spruce forest and crests in the rocky subalpine zone. Picture-perfect panoramas reach as far as the white peaks of the Alaska Range. Colorful early summer wildflowers and late summer fireweed blooms dazzle the eyes.On a clear day, you might feel you can see forever with the views from the Table Top Mountain trail. It is possible for the scene to stretch from the jagged limestone peaks of the White Mountains to the far distant snowcapped Alaska Range. A wildfire in 2004 did not take from the beauty of this landscape. Young spruce, juniper, dwarf dogwood, and waist-high grasses bring life to the once burned land. A rich woodpecker population delights in the recently charred trunks."
