This is a short and relatively easy hike through one of Alaska’s scenic deciduous forests. Even though the length and duration of the hike are short compared to other hikes in the park, it is one you will not want to miss. A viewing deck on the left side of the trail is located above a steep gorge with views of East and West Twin Peaks and the Eklutna River below. Another 0.5 mile brings you to a second platform with an unobstructed view of historic Thunderbird Falls. An optional side trail takes you down to Thunderbird Creek.
