South Fork Eagle River Valley Trail Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This great day hike takes you down to the South Fork Eagle River and eventually leads you to Eagle and Symphony Lakes. At the end of the trail, you can expect great views of the valley, the lakes, Triangle Peak, Hurdygurdy Mountain, and surrounding peaks. This is a popular place for overnight camping and opportunities for further exploration into the open tundra.
The long-range views from down in the valley as you follow the South Fork Eagle River and the approach to the final destination looking at Symphony and Eagle Lakes are definite highlights of this hike. Like all trails in Chugach State Park, this hike has something unique to offer—amazing valley views. The trail begins with an easily followed path, though the last couple miles are a bit more difficult to accomplish."
