Quartz Lake Loop

Quartz Lake Loop Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Quartz Lake State Recreation Area is a fun place to spend a weekend. It is home to two beautiful campgrounds, a good boating and fishing lake, and a half dozen hiking trails. The popular Quartz Lake Loop Trail travels 1.8 miles through a thick forest from the Quartz Lake Campground past an old cabin to the Lost Lake Campground. Upon return the trail ribbons scenic Quartz Lake—keep an eye out for berries and bears!

The Quartz Lake State Recreation Area has several unique hiking trails, from family-friendly easy grade strolls to breathtaking marches up to Bluff Point. The 1.8-mile stretch along the Quartz Lake Loop is the most traveled of the series. The trail begins adjacent to wetland-like Quartz Lake. The mushy muskeg of the area can flood quite easily and therefore creates a mosquito haven very early and late in the season. Be sure to stock up on bug spray before your journey."
