Macedonia Brook snakes through a scenic valley in western Connecticut. Bordered by steep ridges, the brook forms the core of a 2300-acre park that began with a 1552-acre donation to the state in 1918. While most hikers who venture here opt for the less-than-1-mile ascent of scenic Cobble Mountain, this 6.7-mile loop provides greater variety, solitude, and more numerous wildlife viewing opportunities. With camping sites in the park and lodging nearby, a trip to this beautiful corner of Connecticut can easily be extended with other adventures to nearby Kent Falls and pleasant treks along the Appalachian Trail.
