Need a hiking suggestion for an overcast day? Try the Sharon Audubon Center. The captivating views along the Hendrickson Bog Meadow and Fern Trails are short range, so a few clouds won’t detract from your enjoyment. And, on a dreary day, you may have the place to yourself. These paths take you past two ponds teeming with wildlife—primarily geese, ducks, and beavers (we saw a swan)—through some spacious meadows and dense woods that shelter deer, foxes, coyotes, and bobcats. All of the kids—from toddlers to teenagers—will have fun on this walk. This property comprises some 1147 acres with 11 miles of hiking trails. The nature museum features live reptiles, birds, and amphibians and has a well-stocked gift shop.
