A trail starts near the road sign east of the creek and climbs the road cut into the few Douglas firs left after reconstruction of the highway in 1982/83. A double-track trail carries on through aspen meadows to a junction where the second edition trail went left. This time keep straight and cross a lovely side slope of grass and Limber pines into the upper valley where arrows lead to a campsite used by Scouts during the World Jamboree in 1983. The valley head is all meadow and boxed in on three sides by the Bull Creek Hills.
