The Burstall Pass trail takes you effortlessly into that cheerful green and white karst country above treeline. As Joe Kovach and Bill Balmer noted on October 6, 1948, the pass can be easily crossed to the Spray River. Anyone off to Leman Lake, Spray Pass or Palliser Pass could come this way in preference to slogging all the way up the Spray River trail from Bryant Creek. If you don't need trails, use South Burstall Pass for Palliser Pass. For those of you staying around, my recommendation for maximum viewing is Burstall Pass, ridge GR147230 to South Burstall Pass, and a return to Burstall Pass via the benches, a round-trip from the trailhead of about 16 km.
