So this not so secretive glacier below the highest peak in the Goat Range is the true north fork of the Spray River? Was. Nowadays it's just another contributor to the hydro scheme, passed by undetected as you drive down the highway. Getting into the hanging valley is a rough but not difficult walk. Stand on West Side road and look up the creek. To its right is a small meadow and starting from the end a good trail that joins a cutline a short way in. Alternately, walk up the cutline from further to the right. The cutline ends at a large willowy meadow not far from the headwall. As you will see, there's only one reasonable way up this impasse: the open slope far to the left between the treed rib and the cliffs.
