Fryatt Lake mirrors the peaks surrounding a beautiful alpine valley. This popular hiking and climbing destination can be reached my means of an enjoyable bike 'n' hike-by cycling the lower part of the trail you can visit the upper Fryatt Valley on a long day trip. It's a pleasant cycling trip, even if you venture no farther than the end of the designated cycling trail at lower Fryatt Campground. You can expect to find easy cycling on a smooth old road for most of the way to the campsite. At km 6 the trail passes close to the Athabasca River and the sound of cars on the highway across the river reminds you that you have not strayed far from the pavement. Farther along, the trail overlooks Fryatt Creek where erosion of the bank has formed rudimentary hoodoos. Mount Christie and Brussels Peak are the dominant mountains to the west.
