The Smoky River trail is the main northern access into the Willmore Wilderness and leads through one of the few remaining big wilderness valleys in the Canadian Rockies. It can be cycled as a one-day trip or as a part of a multi-day exploration. Located in a major valley and with little elevation gain, this trail makes a good early season ride. During the hunting season, it is popular with equestrians. The trail follows along an abandoned forest access road and the cycling is generally straightforward on a good, wide singletrack with some technical sections. Watch for loose gravel on the short but steep hills. This trail can be muddy in wet weather. currently offers topo maps from the entire United States. We plan to expand our topomap database in the future, however this map is not available at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
