This trip up South Drywood Creek begins on the high plains grasslands of the Rocky Mountain front and climbs up a narrow valley to a pretty blue lake at timberline. The ride continues on to an exposed alpine ridge high above the South Castle River. Along the way you’ll be treated to the usual outstanding scenery and wild colours of the Waterton country. The forests of the upper valley were extensively burned in the 1930s and regeneration has been slow. Alpine flowers are abundant in the meadows. Dirt bikes and the occasional 4x4 use this road so timing can be everything. currently offers topo maps from the entire United States. We plan to expand our topomap database in the future, however this map is not available at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
