The Kings is a wild place. Really. It’s a designated Wild and Scenic River that’s home to wild trout and planters as well. You’ll find rainbows, browns, brookies, and even a few goldens in this waterway. The river is well worth your time and effort: The scenery is truly magnificent, and the angling is of high caliber. This is a classic freestone habitat. It does experience fluctuations in flow and depth dependent on runoff or drought conditions. Don’t be dismayed, however, as the river is loaded with insects, crustaceans, and minnow life throughout the drainage. Types of Fish: Rainbow and brown trout, smallmouth bass. This fly-fishing chapter describes the "where, when, and how" for fishing in this area. It includes a full-page map and information on the known hatches, suggested equipment to use, the best flies to use, season, limits, nearby accommodations, and camping.
