Punta Chivato is at the end of a 7.5 mile peninsula the juts into the middle of the Sea of Cortez near San Bruno. The peninsula offers three types of shore fly angling: rocky shoreline, sandy beach and areas full of various kinds of fish structure. There are limited boat launch and diving facilities in the area. Types of Fish: Shore: Rooster, jacks, sierra, grouper, cabrilla. Inshore: Dorado, yellowtail, rooster, spotted bay bass, grouper, bonito, sierra, jacks, barracuda, triggerfish, ladyfish. Offshore: Dorado, marlin, sailfish, skipjack, giant needlefish, yellowtail and yellowfin tuna. This eTrail covers the "where, when, and how" to fish in this region.
