This famous section of river is a true trophy trout fishery and one of the most spectacular places to fish in North America. Located at the entrance to the Grand Canyon in the high northern Arizona desert, the canyon’s 1,000' sandstone cliffs are beautifully reflected in the Colorado River. This water runs clear 360 days a year. Only during the worst thunderstorm does the river cloud, and then only for a few hours. The fish at the ferry average 12" to 14" but can grow over 20". They are fat and feisty and are taken on a number of wet and dry flies. An average day yields 10 to 20 nice fish. A good angler in the right place at the right time may have a 50-fish day.
