This short hike on the lower slope of Burke Mountain is one of several marked out and maintained by the Burke Mountain Naturalists as part of their efforts to promote the preservation of the Burke Mountain/Pinecone Lake wilderness area as a park. The route uses old logging roads and forest paths to reach its end at a breathtaking waterfall. Be sure to include the Upper Loop Trail: it is impossible not to catch the spirit of the long-gone majestic forest as you walk the old skid roads among the stumps and shells of giant cedars. Other relics of logging days are there for you to discover.
