What do you do with the site of an abandoned mine? You make it a park, of course! And that is what happened with the City of Gatineau’s Parc du Lac Beauchamp. Between 1927 and 1959, a number of firms extracted mica and silicates from this land, gouging a huge pit in the process. When the mines were abandoned as no longer profitable, the pit filled with water and the scarred landscape slowly began to reforest. currently offers topo maps from the entire United States. We plan to expand our topomap database in the future, however this map is not available at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
