Most hikers know that the Rideau Trail connects the cities of Kingston and Ottawa with a hiking path more than 300 km (188 mi) in length. Less well known is that the Rideau Trail system includes a number of side trails, some of them quite extensive. One of these is the Lime Kiln Loop within the National Capital Commission’s Greenbelt, excellent for watching nature, especially waterfowl. This loop also passes its namesake Lime Kiln, a historic site featuring several interpretive display panels. The Lime Kiln Loop is a good choice when you wish to hike for a couple hours but do not wish to drive too far to do so.

Trails.com currently offers topo maps from the entire United States. We plan to expand our topomap database in the future, however this map is not available at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
