If you like ocean, waves, sandy beaches, and seabirds, you will love this walk. An old cart track follows the coastline for its entire length, although it is no longer maintained by the Department of Highways. This is a lovely coastal hike between the villages of Green Bay and Broad Cove that can be either a family walk or an enjoyable hike. The trail is wide and mostly level with only one or two difficult spots. Every little cove has its family of eider ducks, that travel in groups of several females and their chicks. They are very shy, and will head out to sea as soon as they detect your approach. If you have binoculars, scan the waters not far offshore. A little investigation will probably reveal large rafts of eiders, often hidden by the swell, with their numbers only revealed to patient watchers.
