The Liscomb River Trail begins at a fairly large and well-marked parking lot on Highway 7 on the opposite side of the Liscomb River from the lodge. There is a large interpretive sign that provides an excellent overview of the hike. Although much of this trail, I suspect, is nothing more than the path of generations of eager salmon fishers following the banks of this well-known stream, the lodge has recently made a great effort to improve the signage and has made the route much more accessible to walkers. In addition to the featured trek, there are a number of other, shorter walks available. The most enjoyable of these is the Mayflower Trail, which tarts in the same parking area as the river path. Mayflower heads to the mouth of the Liscomb River opposite Rileys Island, then traces the riverbank on the opposite bank from the Lodge. Including this surprisingly challenging walk will add almost 2.5 km (1.5 mi) to your hike.
