Situated in areas of tremendous scenic beauty, these are all worthwhile visits. The short lengths of each makes them suitable for families as well. Lundys Firetower: The view from the firetower is almost without equal in Nova Scotia. Port Bickerton: Port Bickerton was founded in the early 1800s by some fishing families who moved there from Peggys Cove. Originally settling Bickerton Island, most had opted for more sheltered sites on the mainland within a few years. The work on the trails around the lighthouse was completed in 1999. Tor Bay: Both a provincial park and a provincial historic site, Tor Bay is a delightful place to stretch your legs. Blessed with a wonderful beach, the park grounds were once known as Port Faraday. In 1875, the first direct commercial cable used to transmit messages between Europe and the mainland of North America came ashore here. currently offers topo maps from the entire United States. We plan to expand our topomap database in the future, however this map is not available at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
