New trails are springing up all over the province, the majority being developed by community volunteer associations. Perhaps nowhere did that occur more rapidly than on the section of abandoned rail line connecting the communities of Beechville, Lakeside, and Timberlea. Within two years, a group formed, successfully obtained partnership with the municipal government and other partners, and officially opened their trail in October 2001. Few paths are as heavily used. A summer evening sees hundreds of people walking, jogging, and bicycling the trail, especially near Governor Lake. Trail hours are between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. From 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., the trail is closed to all users to protect adjacent landowner privacy and to prevent loitering or vandalism. Camping is not permitted. currently offers topo maps from the entire United States. We plan to expand our topomap database in the future, however this map is not available at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
