A tangle of rugged, remote trails between Central City and Alice. Most of area is between 9,000 and 12,000 feet with sweeping views above timberline. One overlook, near Yankee Hill, looks across valley to St. Mary’s Glacier. Another, near Kingston Peak, looks down on scenic Loch Lomond. The trail begins near Central City on mostly easy roads. After a few miles, roads narrow and become rockier. A key fork at Waypoint 04 sends you in two completely different directions. Left goes past Yankee Hill on a more direct route to Alice. Right drops through Miners Gulch to connect with F.S. 353 that takes you over Kingston Peak towards Alice. You must eventually turn around on both routes because ATVs are not allowed to ride through Alice.
