Hemlock Lake is a small lake, about 7 miles long, with two launch sites. At the south end, launching a canoe or kayak during low water conditions (particularly late summer or autumn) may be difficult because of the mud. But, also due to this shallow water, shorebirds abound at the south end, and your chance of seeing eagles is good. If you like fishing, try for bass along the shoreline. For trout, troll the deeper water. Birds Likely Seen: Variety of ducks, variety of geese, numerous shore birds, herons, eagles, hawks, finches, variety of warblers, wood-peckers, nuthatches, chickadees, titmice and thrushes.
