When the water is high, swift, or during spring runoff, you should be careful of submerged objects in the creek. You have a choice of going upstream to the left, or downstream to the right. Heading upstream is usually easy paddling. Watch for kingfishers diving into the water or cedar waxwings catching insects in the air. Also watch for blue-wing teal, mallards and other water birds in this riparian (water edge) habitat. Birds Likely Seen: Mallards, wood ducks, teals, kingfishers, cedar waxwings and swallows.
