The Tillman Road WMA has 235 acres of wet lowlands containing a marsh, open water, deciduous swamp, grass fields and hardwood forest. The 80-acre cattail marsh attracts large numbers of waterfowl during the spring and fall migrations. They can be viewed from the boardwalk (which is handicapped accessible) at the Wehrle Road entrance. Canada geese, mallards and wood ducks are abundant, but great blue herons, bitterns, pied-billed grebes and rails may also be seen or heard. Birds Likely Seen:Woodpeckers, nuthatches, chickadees, blackbirds, turkey vultures, meadowlarks, goldfinches, herons, bitterns, rails, grebes, ducks and geese.
