Head to Pratt’s Falls for peace and solitude. It gets little use in winter but offers scenic trails through pine forests, fields, and a stream gorge. We were impressed with the natural beauty of this park. You’ll see evidence of Civilian Conservation Corps work throughout the park in stone walls, buildings, and bridges. Pratt’s Falls is a 137-foot falls that sometimes freezes over in winter. Ski into the gorge to view the falls and see if you can spot the rainbow which can be spectacular in winter against an all-white background when the mist in the air and the sunlight are at the right angle. This area was an early Indian camping ground and home to a sawmill, then grist mill in the late 1700s. Terrain: Hilly.
