The Waterman Conservation Education Center exists due to the desire of community citizens to preserve wildlife habitat. Lolita Waterman donated a portion of her family farm as a memorial for her late husband, Fred L. Waterman and volunteers worked to establish the interpretive center and grounds. The interpretative building now houses a museum where visitors will find numerous exhibits and displays about local wildlife. The museum building also houses the Center's Nature Shop, classroom space, a reference library and offices. Waterman Center holds classes year-round on a variety of nature, conservation, and outdoor recreation topics. The trails run through young woods and meadows on a hilltop and cross a stream gully. The trails east of the stream are wide and easy to follow. West of the stream they’re a bit more of a challenge. Terrain: Gentle hills.
