This trail runs along the western shore of Cameron Lake, one of the prettiest lakes in the Waterton-Glacier area. An interpretive display describes the ecology of the subalpine forest found along the lake. From the picnic area, the trail runs through the spruce and fir woodland beside the lake, climbing and falling moderately. As it nears the head of the lake, the trail seeks out a small point where avalanches from Forum Peak have cleared away the trees. Here, hikers get outstanding views of the spectacular Mount Custer headwall and the deep turquoise waters of the lake. currently offers topo maps from the entire United States. We plan to expand our topomap database in the future, however this map is not available at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
