This drive description takes in the most spectacular 300-kilometer (180-mile) portion of the legendary Alaska Highway from Fort Nelson to Liard Hot Springs. The highway passes though some of the deepest wilderness left on earth in northern BC where the combination of alpine peaks, turquoise lakes, vast forests, and abundant wildlife makes for a memorable driving experience. The highlight of the drive is the stretch from Stone Mountain to Muncho Lake in the northern Rockies, considered by many to be the most scenic stretch on the entire Alaska Highway. Special attractions: Extensive views of wilderness, the opportunity to see wildlife, the vistas in the northern Rockies, the “out-there” feel of the drive, Liard Hot Springs, and the bragging rights associated with driving one of the world’s most famous highways. currently offers topo maps from the entire United States. We plan to expand our topomap database in the future, however this map is not available at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
