A challenging and historic 170-kilometer (102-mile) drive through the legendary Fraser Canyon just northeast of Vancouver. Traveling from the lush environs of Hope to the scorching, near-desert conditions of Lillooet, the drive up the Fraser Canyon provides a glimpse into the startling variety of landscapes and environments of southwestern BC and retraces the route of one of BC’s most famous gold rushes. Special attractions: Thrilling driving, the Fraser Canyon itself, the history of the route, the opportunity to drive the “Coast Mountain Circle” tour, the “meeting of the waters.” This eTrail is a complete description of a scenic drive with a route map and information on the best travel seasons, interesting sites, recreation opportunities, camping locations, and much more.
