The Powerline Trail follows the highlights of hiking at the University of Alaska–Fairbanks. The 1.7-mile trail slopes away from the university’s Large Animal Research Station through a spruce forest into the grassy meadows at the heart of the campus. Intersecting trails connect side-trips to the Exotic Tree Plantation, Potato Field, and Smith Lake Wildlife Preserve.
