Snaking from the Five Ponds Wilderness to the St. Lawrence River, a distance of more than 100 miles, this boulder-strewn stream offers a complete menu of angling adventures, from wilderness fly fishing for native brook trout under the gaze of bald eagles demonstrating their own version of catching fish on the fly, to trolling for walleyes under the bridge in cosmopolitan Ogdensburg. It has numerous small impoundments. Key species: Brook trout, brown trout, northern pike, walleye, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, muskellunge, channel catfish, yellow perch, and rock bass.
