With so many lakes and ponds on more than 1,000 acres of land, Paradise Public Fishing Area offers many angling opportunities. Some lakes are managed for big bass, some for just catfish, some for good all-around fishing, and a few ponds are reserved for use by children and other special groups. Some lakes are periodically closed for maintenance, restocking, or simply to give the fish a rest from all the activity. Call ahead or check the information board at the entrance to find out what lakes are open and if any special regulations are in effect. Anglers have caught some huge bass over the years at Paradise Public Fishing Area and it is arguably the best public trophy bass water in the state of Georgia. Fish weighing more than 10 pounds are not unusual, and 7- to 8-pounders are common. Bluegill, redear sunfish, channel catfish, and crappie are also available here in good numbers and good size. Key species: largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, channel catfish, crappie.
