Lake Juliette is a 3,600-acre Georgia Power Company reservoir that provides cooling water for Plant Scherer, a coal-fired power plant. The Georgia Wildlife Resources Division manages the lands around Lake Juliette as the Rum Creek Wildlife Management Area. The water is usually very clear and while the lake is known for producing some huge stripers and largemouth bass, the fish population is low compared to other nearby lakes. Aquatic weeds thrive in Juliette and often can be found growing as deep as 30 feet. Plenty of timber was left in Lake Juliette at impoundment. Although the lake is infertile, it does produce some trophy fish. The lake has a proven ability to produce largemouth bass weighing more than 15 pounds and striped bass to 37 pounds. Lake Juliette is not a numbers lake, but what it lacks in numbers it makes up for in size and quality of the experience. Key species: largemouth bass, striped bass, redear sunfish.
