Flowing through the Cohutta Wildlife Management Area, this creek provides a good mix of easy access fishing for stocked rainbow trout and the chance at wild trout in its more remote upper reaches. Holly Creek is one of the better trout streams in northwest Georgia. A combination of good public access and heavy stocking on the lower end make that section a favorite with families and those interested in a relaxing trout fishing trip. Farther upstream, as the creek veers away from the road, Holly Creek and its tributaries provide some challenging angling for wild rainbow trout. Typical of most Georgia mountain streams, Holly Creek is a small to medium stream and is better suited to ultralight spinning tackle than fly fishing gear. Key species: rainbow trout.
