Volusia County has gone out of its way to provide public access for anglers. Dan O’Brien, executive director of the county’s Port Authority, proudly states that they already have built more than 10,000 feet of fishing piers along the Halifax River and the upper part of Mosquito Lagoon. That is 4,100 feet more than the projected amount of pier footage needed for the population in 2010. This eTrail covers 7 different fishing destinations in these Florida counties including Tomoka State Park, Halifax River, Main Street Pier, Sunglow Pier, Volusia County Beaches, Ponce de Leon Inlet, and Indian River North.
