This loop route does’t have much traffic, and follows numerous county and farm roads by a series of lakes and pastures. It has produced more than 250 species over the past 20 years, including many rarities, so be alert for anything. It can be good in any season, although for different mix of species. Though the latter portion of the loop is dirt roads, they are usually in very good shape. Care should be taken after rain, of course, and if the rain has lasted several days, don’t leave the paved roads. Key birds: Brewer’s Blackbird, Upland Sandpiper, American Golden-Plover, wading birds, ducks. This eTrail provides detailed information on birding strategies for this specific location, the specialty birds and other key birds you might see, directions to each birding spot, and helpful general information.
