The lake at Sweetwater Creek is large and fairly deep; it attracts more divers than most shallower lakes and usually has at least several duck species all winter. Good viewing access is available for almost the entire lake. There are several nice walking trails along Sweetwater Creek itself, good for viewing migrants during spring and fall. Key birds: Ducks, especially divers such as Ruddy Duck, passerines in migration. This eTrail provides detailed information on birding strategies for this specific location, the specialty birds and other key birds you might see, directions to each birding spot, and helpful general information.
