Wonderful views alone make this hike worth the time! After parking your car on Paradise Road, follow the blazes back along the road past houses then to the Quinnipiac Trail (across from utility pole 7278) that leaves the road at a right angle, west, crosses an old stone wall, and then ascends the east face of York Mountain. This mountain offers some of the finest panoramic views in the state. Its crest reaches 680 feet high. To take advantage of an extensive bare rock area where one has unobstructed views of the south and the west, the trail follows the south rim of the mountain about 20 feet below its peak. This outcropping of rock makes the ideal place to rest and lunch.
