If you seek lofty views with minimal effort, this short hike is for you. At 232 acres, this state park—one of Connecticut’s oldest—has plenty to offer. The hike is a wonderful way to introduce young children to the joys of summiting. The climb is mostly gradual, with one short, steep stretch on the descent. Moderately deep and clear, Mount Tom Pond is spring-fed and a great place to cool off after your trek.
