From the parking lot, follow the light-blue-blazed Wolcott Trail—named for the Civilian Conservation Corps’ Camp Wolcott—north (counterclockwise) around the pond. Ducks often loaf on nearby boulders that protrude from the pond’s surface. Enter black-birch and white-ash woods and pick up the trail on the north side of the lot. Cross a small bridge over a rocky stream. Some impressive red and black oaks appear, followed by a resort facility.
