Hike the eastern half of the challenging Coast Trail, exploring hidden coves, rocky headlands, historical sites, petroglyphs, and shoreline ledges. Watch for whales, including orcas. Then head inland to climb Babbington Hill for sweeping views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Olympic Mountains. Shorter and easier than the western park loop, it’s still plenty challenging—but packed with even more surprises. While this loop is challenging, the hike just to Creyke and Aldridge points can be enjoyed by most hikers. Follow a gravel path through pastures and apple orchards of the old Aylard Farm. At 0.1 mile, come to a junction with the 6.2-mile Coast Trail (actually closer to 7.2 mi/11.6 km).
