Hike along a restored salmon-bearing creek and one of the few protected watersheds within the Gulf Islands. In winter, visit for the spawning chum, cutthroat, and coho, or perhaps to see a small waterfall usually hidden behind a cloak of greenery. One thing you can expect year-round is solitude. The rough and at times muddy trail enters a lush second-growth forest, cutting through a dense understory of ferns. Utilizing steps, the trail steeply descends .15 mile to a bench overlooking a small waterfall on a tributary creek. Late in the season, the creek trickles while thick greenery obscures it.
