The Kim Williams Trail is a corridor that cuts straight out of town among the cliffs and forests of Hellgate Canyon. The doubletrack, gravel trail is flat and follows the path of the old Milwaukee Railroad. The bottleneck canyon in the Clark Fork River is a popular recreation destination any time of the year. A variety of wildlife can be encountered here. The hike begins at the Sentinel Trailhead. There is an option to climb the Hellgate Canyon Trail to the top of Mount Sentinel and descend down the face. There are plans to extend this trail over the river and connect it with the Canyon River Loop on Bandmann Flats.
