The Albuquerque Open Space Visitor Center and the small network of trails o?er hikers an ideal place to enjoy the bosque. If you plan your hike during the right time of the year (fall and winter), you can enjoy excellent viewing of the sandhill cranes’ migration. This 2-mile hike connects three shorter trails to loop through the bosque area. Hikers can also spend some time in the visitor center, where year-round activities are o?ered to the community. Walk through the arched doorway and turn left (south). Begin hiking south on the gravel Visitor Center Trail. Here the trail runs along La Orilla Channel for 0.2 mile before it intersects Roberson Lane. Cross the road and continue hiking south. After 0.3 mile the trail drops east off the channel onto a packed dirt trail. At the bottom of the hill, you will see signs directing you to the Bosque Trails.
