A six- to seven-day trip through dramatic terrain that features a traverse around the base of Pyramid Peak. Highlights include eye-popping views from two high ridges as well as some interesting mining ruins at Chititu Camp and along Rex Creek. A remote and little traveled route. Almost as soon as you hike north from the landing strip, you will need to make your first stream crossing of a tributary to Canyon Creek. Your first objective is the large and obvious ridge directly to the west. There are ridges and gullies that flow down off the ridge crest, but not all of these are good, or even workable, routes.
